Ever consider researching your family history, but don’t really know where to start?
Join us for our September Presentation Event Thursday, September 6th at 7pm
Gail and Harry Benson will review the basics of beginning your family history and discuss sources of information. They will also address where to go from there with specific examples and a Q & A to address the audience’s specific problems.
Gail and Harry Benson – short bio
Gail and Harry Benson are educators that first came to Buena Vista Township 45 years ago.
Gail was the first Business Education Department chairman at Buena Regional High School when it opened and advisor to the high school’s first graduating class, She later went on to become a school business administrator and retired in 2002 as a County School Business Administrator working for the New Jersey Department of Education.
Harry was a math and computer science instructor at the middle school, high school and university levels, as well as working in corporate America in computer graphics research and development. He is currently President of the Buena Historical Society.
In addition to researching their own families, they do local history research, and genealogical research for others. Their speaking history includes historical and genealogical societies as well as several appearances at the Mid-Atlantic Family History Conference. Their own family research involves California, Nevada, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey on the US side. “Jumping the pond” would take them to Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Italy.
