The Italian Cultural Foundation of South Jersey recently made a contribution of $1,200.00 to the M 25 Initiative Program of Cumberland County.
The funds will be used to sponsor “Welcome Home Kits” for two chronically homeless individuals who are moving into their own apartment as part of the M25 Initiative’s Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative. The Cumberland County Housing First Collaborative (CCHFC) is a unique consortium of social service organizations, faith-based institutions, and government officials committed to tackling the problem of chronic homelessness in Cumberland County. A unique feature of our Housing First Program is that we are incorporating the community to help our homeless neighbors. Families, groups, organizations, churches, companies, etc., assist by “adopting a homeless neighbor” which involves providing a “Welcome Home” Kit by collecting household items for individuals as they move off the streets into permanent housing.
